Greetings! Thanks for clicking on my bio.
I'm a Texas native who was born in Houston, but moved to San Antonio where I lived for sixteen years. I knew from a young age that I wanted to be a meteorologist. The National Weather Center’s location on the University of Oklahoma’s campus made the decision about where to study meteorology an easy decision for me.
I graduated from the University of Oklahoma in May of 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in meteorology and a minor in broadcast meteorology. The University of Oklahoma’s meteorology program is one of the best in the nation.
During my tenure at OU, I worked for the school’s newscast, OU Nightly, where I learned how to run cameras, audio and playback. The summer before my senior year, I was hired to work at KOCO 5 News in Oklahoma City as an Operations Technician. This allowed me to work behind-the-scenes running cameras, audio and teleprompter. Doing this allowed me to see what work goes on at a news station and I learned about how hard the meteorologists work during severe weather days.
I'm thrilled to be back in the Lone Star State with my sweet miniature schnauzer, Padfoot, who is named after a character in one of my favorite book series, Harry Potter.
You can see me on weekends here on ABC7 News.
