Crockett's record-breaking performance leads McLean to first state title

The McLean Tigers have claimed their first-ever state championship with a 100-70 win over Milford on Wednesday at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

The game started with both teams trading touchdowns until time ran out with the Tigers taking a slim 40-32 lead over the Bulldogs headed into the half. The difference came on a pair of Milford turnovers that led to McLean touchdowns in the third and fourth quarters.

McLean's Ben Crockett set a UIL record with nine rushing touchdowns leading the Tigers to victory. Crockett tallied a total of 12 touchdowns in the history making game.

Texas Panhandle teams still have two state title games remaining, beginning with Gruver taking on the Mart Panthers at 7 p.m. on Wednesday and Canadian will do battle with Newton on Thursday at 3 p.m.
