Lady Buffs roll past UAFS in South Central opener

Lady Buffs defeat Arkansas-Fort Smith 81-66 in the South Central Regional opener in Lubbock on Friday.

The West Texas A&M Lady Buffs kept their season alive with an 81-66 win over seventh-seeded Arkansas-Fort Smith in the opening round of the South Central Regional at the Rip Griffin Center on the campus of Lubbock Christian on Friday.

The No. 2-seed WT, who improves to 28-4 overall this season, were led offensively by sophomore Lexy Hightower. The Amarillo High product scored a game-high 28 points.

Junior Tiana Parker also delivered a big performance, scoring 23 points to go along with eight boards and six rejections.

The Lady Buffs look to continue their run at a South Central Regional title when they play No. 6-seed Metro State at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Rip Griffin Center.
