After weeks of silence from Kawhi Leonard and his trade to the Raptors, the former San Antonio Spurs forward has finally said goodbye to the organization, former teammates and fans.

Leonard's letter (his first public statement since the trade this offseason) thanked Gregg Popovich for his growth on the court and called Spurs fans "passionate."

Leonard sat out most of the 2017-18 NBA season due to rehab of his right quadriceps injury and suited up for nine games.

He ultimately let it be known he wanted out of the Spurs organization and while it was reported he wanted to head back to his home of California, he was eventually traded to the Raptors (along with Danny Green) in exchange for DeMar DeRozan, a protected 2019 NBA Draft pick and Jakob Poeltl.
