UIL girls basketball playoffs begin

The bidistrict round for the UIL girls basketball playoffs began on Monday. (MGN Online)

Monday night saw the start of the UIL girls state basketball playoffs and the start of the run to the state tournament and a possible state championship.

A team needs to win seven games in a row to win a state title. Fifteen games involving teams from the ABC 7 viewing area were in action on opening night with five more scheduled on Tuesday.

This is the bi-district round with winners playing again later this week in area round action.
