Oklahoma State chosen to host NCAA super regional

The Oklahoma State Cowboys have been chosen to host an NCAA baseball super regional.

OSU announced Tuesday that the Cowboys will host UC Irvine in a best-of-three series starting Friday at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium. This is the first time OSU has hosted a super regional.

OSU is 48-16 after winning the regional in Stillwater while UC Irvine is 38-23 after upsetting No. 1 national seed Oregon in the regional in Corvallis, Oregon.

The games will start at 8:30 p.m. Friday and 9 p.m. Saturday. Sunday's game, if necessary, will begin at 8 p.m.

The winner of the super regional advances to the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska.
