The unemployment rate is currently at 4.7% as told by a May job report from the government. On this week's Say What, we're asking you about your confidence in the job market.
"The economy here in Amarillo I think is fairly good," said Roger Lindley.
"I think it's bad right now, it seems like it's hard for people to find jobs where they can earn a wage," said Tom Jones.
"For us, for Gorilla Graphics, it's really good. We've doubled in business just in the last year," said Jason Taylor.
"Around here in the Panhandle it's really good, especially with local businesses," said Chris Wyatt.
What about your own job security? How confident are you in being able to keep your own job?
"What I do is film and video work, so it ebbs and flows, but if it is an indication of the overall economy of the nation, as my industry being the bellwether, I would say nobody is spending money to do the type of work that I do," said Lindley.
"I feel confident right now. I work for a non-profit organization," said Jones.
"Very confident in the job security. We're two months out, we have that much business," said Taylor.
"Started a small business awhile back and I'm really confident in my job security and especially the employees we have working for us," said Wyatt.
What about in the next five years? Do you think the job market will change much?
"I do not think the economy will get better in the next 5 years unless regulations are reduced and Obamacare mandates are also relieved," said Lindley.
"I think it's going to stay the same in the next five years," said Jones.
"I see it getting better just because the vinyl industry is blowing up. It's huge," said Taylor.
"It's really good right now, it can only get better," said Wyatt.
