Police arrest father in death of 5-month-old Baltimore girl

BALTIMORE (WBFF) -- Baltimore Police have arrested the father of a five-month-old girl who died in early October from trauma.

Police say 21-year-old Anthony Ford is in custody following the death of his daughter, Brailynn Ford. He has been charged with second degree murder, several child abuse counts and first and second degree assault.

Police responded to an area hospital at around 3 p.m. on October 4 for a report of an injured five-month-old baby. Responding officers observed Brailynn with signs of trauma to her body.

Brailynn was pronounced dead on October 7. The victim's body was transported to the Medical Examiner's office where the cause of death was ruled a Homicide.

Anthony Ford was taken into custody Thursday morning.

Brailynn is Baltimore’s youngest homicide victim this year.
