JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. (WBMA) - Reformed Neo-Nazi Christian Picciolini took to Reddit, a popular multi-subject forum, to explain how Neo-Nazis are targeting children.

Picciolini says during his time as a member, they sought out marginalized youth and promised them "paradise." Now, he says not much has changed, at least in their end goal.

According to Picciolini, Neo-Nazis are now using "nefarious tactics," like visiting depression and mental health forums and playing multiplayer games to recruit vulnerable young people.

Local gamer Ben Claud says he hears and sees that type of thing often during gameplay.

"Across platforms I've been hearing a lot of anti-Semitism, racism, homophobia, [and] Neo-Nazi things like that happening over the headsets," said Claud.

In his post, Picciolini says they drop hints, then ramp up recruitment when kids get hooked into what they are saying.

ABC 33/40 did some digging and found YouTube videos of "Fortnite" play, showing some of what Claud is talking about.

But, it's not just "Fortnite," according to Picciolini; other popular games are being used as hate platforms as well.
