A woman wanted in connection to a Monday morning fatal crash in Amarillo has been arrested, according to the Amarillo Police Department.

Princess Graciela Nanez, 21, was booked into the Potter County Detention Center for Accident Involving Death.

Amarillo Police said she fled the scene of the fatal accident.

Around 6:30 a.m. Monday morning, a 51-year-old man died in a crash in the 2100 block of Amarillo Boulevard West.

APD said a 1997 Chevrolet Suburban driven by a 46-year-old woman had broken down in the right hand land of westbound traffic. Her suburban was rear-ended by a 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix, police at first believed to be driven by German Nanez Sr.

Police said Nanez Sr. died at the scene from injuries he received in the crash. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and, police say, speed is also a factor of the crash.

Later Monday, an investigation revealed Princess Nanez was the driver and left the scene before officers arrived.
