AUSTIN, Texas — University of Texas at Austin Police are investigating the sexual assault of a student on campus.
It happened at the Kinsolving Dorm late Tuesday night and was reported to campus police at 2 o'clock Wednesday morning.
Police sent this message to students on social media:
The most common type of sexual assault is perpetrated by someone the victim knows, not by a stranger. Consent is enthusiastic agreement required by all and can be revoked at any time. Sexual activity requires consciousness and clarity.
Don't feel obligated to do anything you don't want to do. "I don't want to" is always a good enough reason.
UT police say the survivor knows the person who assaulted them and that suspect is not a student at the university.
