Two robberies at Walmart and United could be from the same suspect

Amarillo police are investigating two robberies at a Walmart and a United that could have been by the same person. (File Photo).

On Monday evening just after 4 pm, Amarillo Police Department officers were sent to the Walmart at 4215 Canyon Drive on suspicion of a robbery.

A victim present, told officers the suspect was a Hispanic male with long, dark hair, dressed in all black, had forced them out of their vehicle and then the suspect left in the vehicle.

Later that afternoon, around 4:30 pm, officers were sent to the United Market Street at 2530 S. Georgia on a robbery. Another victim described this suspect to be similar to the suspect at the Walmart robbery, and forced them out of their vehicle and left.

Officers later found the vehicle from the Walmart robbery at the United where the second robbery occurred.

According to APD, no weapon was used and no major injuries have been reported.

This investigation is ongoing and the police department is asking for anyone with information about these two robberies to call the department at 806-378-3038.
