AMARILLO — Texas Department of Public Safety has confirmed two people have died after a plane crash in Roberts County.
DPS has identified those killed as 75-year old Carmel Azzopardi and 49-year old Paula Azzopardi of Amarillo.
Sergeant Cindy Barkley with DPS says the single-engine aircraft went down just west of the Hemphill County line.
FAA investigators on scene Friday say the crash site is very compact. They say they did not see any ground scars.
NTSB is expected to begin its investigation Saturday morning.
