Tulia Volunteer Fire Department receives structural gear grant
TULIA, Texas (KVII) —
The Tulia Volunteer Fire Department was awarded a structural gear grant on Wednesday from Texas A&M Forest Service.
According to the fire department's Facebook page, the department will pay $1,500 and in return will receive $15,000 for gear to outfit the volunteer firefighters.
Tulia VFD officials said it costs over $2,200 to outfit one fireman and the grant will be a huge help to the volunteer departments.
The grant will expire on Aug. 14, 2018.
