Texas Rangers investigating homicide in Memphis after Childress woman found dead

MEMPHIS, Texas (KVII) — The Texas Rangers are investigating a homicide in Memphis.
According to DPS, the Memphis Police Department contacted DPS on Saturday night and requested the Rangers assistance.
The victim was identified as Cassandra Downey, 52, of Childress.
The Rangers have a suspect in custody, according to DPS.
The case will be turned over to the 100th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
