TEXAS COUNTY, Okla. (KVII) — After 22 more COVID-19 cases were confirmed on Wednesday, the Oklahoma Department of Health and Oklahoma Emergency Management has recognized Texas County as a "hot spot."
According to Texas County Emergency Management, new positive test results were returned for 21 Guymon residents and one Hooker resident.
The new cases bring the total number of reported coronavirus cases in Texas County is 274.
Health department officials are reporting that 107 COVID-19 patients in the county have recovered from the virus.
County officials are also working to secure additional testing to be implemented next week to help identify those with the virus and asses the best way to halt the community spread.
