Residents report power outages in Amarillo
AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) —
UPDATE | As of 3:30 p.m., Xcel said all customers have had their power restored.
UPDATE | Xcel Energy said the power outage was due to a downed line on Georgia Street.
As of 2 p.m., Xcel said there 1,030 customers have already had their power restored but there were still another 224 without power. Those customers will have their power restored once the line is repaired.
ORIGINAL STORY | Some Amarillo residents have lost power to their homes Monday afternoon, as heavy rain began pouring down on areas of the City.
Residents in the 2000- block of Lipscomb Street in Amarillo lost power just after 12:30 p.m. on Monday.
According to the Xcel Energy Electric Outage Map, as of 12:36 p.m., there were four outages with 1,265 Amarillo customers affected.
Traffic lights around on Georgia Street and around Wolflin Village, according to Xcel.
Xcel says they have a crew en route to the substation to check it out and try to fix the issue.
