Potter County firefighters tackle blaze along Canadian River
AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) —

The Canadian River Fire is 75 percent contained at 1,500 acres, according to the Texas A&M Forest Service. Crews have completed line construction around the fire.

Forward progress has been stopped at 1,500 acres, 25 percent containment, according to reports from the Texas A&M Forest Service.

The Canadian River Fire in Potter County is currently estimated at 1,500 acres and is 25 percent contained, according to the Texas A&M Forest Service.
UPDATE: 2:33 p.m.
According to the Texas A&M Forest Service, the Canadian River Fire is being estimated at 150 acres with 20 percent containment. Local and TFS crews are reporting good progress.

Canadian River Fire in Potter County is estimated at 20 acres. Single-engine air tankers have been ordered out of Amarillo.

Texas Forest Service is responding to a request for assistance on a wildfire in Potter County.

AFD is sending two grass rigs and one command vehicle to assist on a large grass fire near U.S. 287 & the Candian River.
Potter County Fire Capt. Richard Lake has confirmed his crew is fighting a fire on both sides of U.S. 287 at the Canadian River.
