The Potter County Sheriff's Office is searching for the suspect officials say hit a Potter County Deputy as he attempted to approach him.
According to the PCSO, on Monday deputies caught a motorcycle on radar in the area of Cherry and Broadway driving 117 miles per hour.
At that point, the deputies began a chase, but due to speed and traffic it was called off.
Authorities said firemen with Potter County Fire-Rescue stationed on Willow Creek heard information about the incident on the radio and later called the PCSO saying there was a similar motorcycle in the area at the railroad tracks.
Officials said deputies closed in on the area from all directions.
A deputy heading north on N. Eastern from Loop 335 encountered the suspect in the 6500 block of N. Eastern.
That's when, according to the PCSO, the suspect appeared to be giving up and the deputy walked around behind the vehicle and approached the male on the motorcycle.
The suspect then started slowly moving toward the deputy, according to the PCSO, and sped up striking the deputy.
The deputy was then dragged down the road a few feet, pulled his service pistol and fired a shot at the suspect.
Authorities said it's unknown whether the suspect was hit because he then sped off.
The PCSO describes the suspect vehicle as a red "crotch rocket" motorcycle with a clear windshield.
The suspect is described as a white male wearing a black full face helmet, a gray shirt with red and white stripes on the short sleeves. He was wearing black gloves, blue jeans and bright blue sneakers.
The suspect also appeared, according to the PCSO, to have sleeve tattoos on both arms.
