It was a match made in heaven. A perfect event for the dog lovers in the Texas Panhandle.

About 100 people gathered together Saturday, July 14 to show the Panhandle Spirit by helping the Amarillo SPCA at the 'Pints for Pups' event at the Long Wooden Spoon Brewery.

Folks there were able to listen to some good music with their furry friends and get some nice snacks from food trucks.

Organizers tell us this event has grown over the years with just as many dogs as there are people.

"I love animals, and we just wanted to make sure that people are aware the opportunities they have out here with the organizations that take care of these animals," said Jared Read, the owner of Long Wooden Spoon Brewery. "You got the SPCA, the Humane Society, the vet clinics that help out. So we just want to make sure those people have an opportunity in supporting them, cause a lot of them get the exposure they need."

Yellow City Pet Supplies were also on hand to give out samples.
