MCINTOSH COUNTY, Okla. (KVII) — A Pampa man was killed after riding his bicycle into lanes of traffic and being struck by a pickup truck six miles east of Checotah, Oklahoma.
On Jan. 3, 31-year-old Cody Ellis from Pampa, was going east on Interstate 40 when he traveled into the outside lanes of traffic.
According to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol news release, a GMC Sierra was traveling east when it hit the man causing him to be thrown from the bike.
Ellis was taken to St. Francis Muskogee Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The driver and passenger of the GMC were not injured.
