Two people were arrested after deputies in Wheeler County found them "passed out" inside a vehicle at Cross Country Barn on Thursday.

According to the Wheeler County Sheriff's Office, when officials responded to the call, they found the pair passed out in the front seat of a car. WCSO said the subjects were asked for consent to search the vehicle, which they denied.

A deputy K-9 did an "open air search" of the vehicle and the K-9 alerted there was an odor of illegal narcotics, so the vehicle was searched.

During the search, WCSO said the deputy found a gun, several hypodermic syringes, heroin residue, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Both subjects were arrested and booked into the Wheeler County Jail.
