One man killed, one injured in crash south of Guymon

A Canyon, Texas, man was killed and a Guymon, Okla., man was critically injured late Monday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash 3.5 miles south of Guymon.

A 49-year-old Canyon, Texas, man was killed and a 25-year-old Guymon man was critically injured late Monday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash 3.5 miles south of Guymon.

Mickey Dean Huddleston, 49 of Canyon, was declared dead at the scene from head, and internal and external body injuries, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol statement issued late Tuesday.

Andres Espinoza, 25 of Guymon, was taken to University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. He was listed in critical condition late Tuesday, according to the OHP release.

According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol release:

  • The collision happened about 4:10 p.m. Monday at State Highway 136 and County Road AA about 3.5 miles south of Guymon.
  • Huddleston, driving a 2017 Chevrolet pickup, was stopped at a stop sign at State Highway 136 in Texas County.
  • Espinoza, driving a 1987 Chevrolet pickup, was northbound on SH136.
  • For some reason, his vehicle crossed the centerline, departed roadway to the left, traveled through the ditch, and collided with Huddleston’s pickup.
  • The condition of both drivers was “apparently normal.”
  • Although available, neither driver was using a seatbelt.
  • Conditions were clear and dry.
  • Assisting the OPH investigation were the Texas County Sheriff's Office, Guymon EMS and Guymon Fire.
