CANYON, Texas (KVII) — Around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 17, officers with the Canyon Police department were dispatched to a motorcycle versus pick-up truck incident on FM2590.
According to officials, the motorcycle was going southbound when it rear ended a pick-up truck. The pick-up was stopped behind a car that was turning left onto Hunsley Hills Boulevard.
Officials say the male motorcyclist didn't realize the truck was stopped until it was too late, which is when he locked the brakes and skidded underneath the pick-up.
The motorcyclist suffered severe injuries mostly to his head. Officers say he was not wearing a helmet. He was transported to a local area hospital.
The motorcycle passenger suffered minor injuries.
The driver and passengers in the pick-up did not suffer any injuries in the accident.
The crash is still being investigated and ABC 7 will provide updates as new information becomes available.
