Moore County Sheriff's Office search warrant leads to stolen items, vehicle
MOORE COUNTY, Texas (KVII) —
The Moore County Sheriff's Office arrested a man on Monday that stole several items from Moore County businesses after the execution of a search warrant.
According to police, Moore County deputies, in conjunction with the Moore County Emergency Response Team and the Panhandle Auto Burglary and Theft Unit, executed the search warrant on a home located on the 1200 block of South Porter in Dumas.
During the search, several stolen items were located in the home. After further investigation, deputies learned that the stolen items were taken from several businesses in Moore County.
Deputies also learned that the items stolen were related to the stolen dump truck recovered on Sunday.
One male suspect was arrested and charged with theft of property. The Moore County Sheriff's Office is currently looking into charging the suspect with more crimes stemming from his criminal episode.
Then, on Tuesday, the Sheriff's Office was able to ascertain information about a stolen vehicle located in Amarillo. Deputies contacted the Panhandle Auto Burglary and Theft Unit Unit and shared the information with them.
Panhandle Auto Burglary and Theft officers dispatched units to the location and were able to locate the stolen vehicle. Further investigation determined that the stolen vehicle in Amarillo was related to the search warrant executed the previous day.
The stolen vehicle was taken into Panhandle Auto Burglary and Theft possession and they are currently conducting an investigation.
