57-year-old Carl Edward Kaiser drowned in Lake Meredith near the Fritch Fortress May 20, at 12:30 a.m.

According to Nation Park Service press release, "Carl Edward Kaiser, drowned while attempting to load his swamped tracker boat when it suddenly capsized, causing him to become trapped underneath the boat."

National Park Rangers who witnessed the incident attempted to save Kaiser but were unsuccessful.

Justice of Peace J.P Rodriguez order an autopsy in Lubbock on Monday May 21.
