
CHILDRESS, Texas (KVII) — A high speed police chase in Childress ended in gunfire after the suspect rammed a patrol car.
According to the Childress County Sheriffs Office, which assisted Childress police, the chase started Tuesday night in a residential area in northwest Childress and ended in the Garden Valley area of Childress County.
During the chase, the suspect exceeded 100 miles per hour.
It ended when the suspect "intentionally rammed"a patrol car.
The sheriff's office said gunfire was exchanged and the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.
"Please keep the law enforcement officers and the suspect's family in your prayers," said the sheriff's office.
The Texas Rangers are investigating.
