A Canadian mother whose son has been missing since November is frustrated with the police investigation into his disappearance.

Penny Meek has lost confidence in the Hemphill County Sheriff's Office and wants the search for her son, Thomas Brown, turned over to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Meek spoke of her disappointment during a news conference Thursday afternoon in Canadian's first United Methodist Church. It was the eight month anniversary of his disappearance. The family released a video giving more background on Thomas. The hope is the video will be widely shared and aid the effort in finding him.

A standing-room only crowd filled the church's youth room, where folks heard more about Thomas, 17, who has been missing since Thanksgiving week 2016.
