DPS seizes more than $118,000 cash, small amount of marijuana during traffic stop

    The Texas Department of Public Safety seized more than $118,000 in cash and a small amount of marijuana Sunday after a Texas Highway Patrol Trooper stopped a vehicle in Carson County.

    According to DPS officials, at about 2:30 p.m., a DPS Trooper stopped a 2006 Land Rover traveling west on Interstate 40 near Conway for a traffic violation. The Trooper discovered plastic-wrapped bundles of cash in the spare tire and glove box. A small amount of marijuana was located inside a backpack.

    DPS Special Agents were contacted and assisted with the investigation.

    Adam Narain, 30, of Winter Garden, Fla., was arrested and charged with money laundering. Narain was transported and booked into the Carson County Jail.

    The cash was allegedly being transported from Winter Garden to California.
