DPS seizes $389K of marijuana in Oldham County traffic stop
OLDHAM COUNTY, Texas (KVII) —
The Texas Department of Public Safety seized approximately $389,000 in marijuana during a traffic stop in Oldham County on Friday.
According to DPS officials, a DPS Tropper stopped a 2017 Nissan Altima traveling east on I-40 near Wildorado around 3:45 p.m. for a traffic violation.
A DPS canine arrived on scene and alerted the Trooper, who discovered multiple vacuum-sealed packages of marijuana inside duffel bags in the truck.
Authorities said 64 pounds of marijuana were located, totaling $389,000.
The driver, 45-year-old Xue Huang of Philadelphia, was arrested and charged with felony possession of marijuana. He was transported and booked into the Oldham County jail.
The drugs were allegedly being transported from Covina, California to Philadelphia.
