HARTLEY COUNTY (KVII) — Two people were killed in a head-on crash in Hartley County.
DPS said the driver who caused the crash was trying to pass over vehicles in front of her.
According to the preliminary crash report, Kelly Williams, 29, of Lewisville, Texas was traveling north on US 385.
Around 9:30 p.m. on Easter Sunday, Williams tried to pass other vehicles in front of her.
When she veered into oncoming traffic, her Mazda CX5 hit a Toyota Highlander head-on about two miles south of Hartley.
Williams was transported to the hospital in Dumas where she later died from injuries sustained in the crash.
The other driver, Robert Kramer, 67, of La Veta, Colorado, was pronounced dead at the scene.
