AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — Officers with the Amarillo Police Department were dispatched to a residence in the 1200 block of Gardenia Street on a domestic incident on Friday, Feb. 15 at 6:15 a.m.
The caller informed officers that a male suspect had entered the residence uninvited and made claims to harm himself and others. Officers were told that there were five people inside of the house.
Officers were able to get three people out safely, but Johnny Angel Padilla, the 28-year-old suspect, refused to come out and a second member of the household was unable to leave on their own.
At 7:10 a.m., the Amarillo Police Department Critical Incident Response Team responded to the scene.
The second person in the house came out just after 11:45 a.m.
Then at 12:04 p.m., Padilla exited the residence and was taken into custody. Padilla was booked into the Potter County Detention Center for burglary of a habitation with intent to commit another felony. No injuries were reported during the incident.
