City of Amarillo, AC partnering to offer Certified Food Manager Course
AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) —
The City of Amarillo's Environmental Health Department announced a partnership with Amarillo College for a one-time ServSafe Certified Food Manager Course being offered at a reduced cost of $70 per person.
The course is scheduled for Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The course is located at the AC Downtown Campus in the Bud Joyner Auditorium. A total of 100 spots are available. Advance registration is preferred.
The related exam will take place on Feb. 20 from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. For online registration, click here.
The course will promote food safety and provide education in the following areas:
- The importance of food safety; good personal hygiene; time and temperature control; preventing cross-contamination; cleaning and sanitizing; receiving and storing food; methods of thawing, cooking, cooling and reheating food; HACCP (Hazards Analysis and Critical Control Points) and food safety regulations.
