Canyon High 'Soaring Pride' Band places fourth at state marching competition
The Canyon High School 'Soaring Pride Band' placed fourth at the Class 4A UIL State Marching Band Contest Wednesday at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
According to canyonsoaringprideband.com, the band competed in the High Plains Marching Contest in October and earned honors for Best Small School Band, Best Percussion, Best Drum Majors, 2nd place for Color Guard, and 3rd place overall.
Later that month, they competed at the Regional Marching Contest on October 20th at Dick Bivins Stadium in Amarillo where they earned straight ones. From there, they advanced to the Area Marching Contest at Lowery Field in Lubbock where they advanced to the state contest.
