Autopsy scheduled for victim in fatal Pampa shooting; suspect charged

An autopsy has been scheduled for the 19-year-old Pampa man who died early Saturday morning after being shot.

According to the City of Pampa, the autopsy for Brad Austin Burton will take place in Lubbock on Monday. Police say Burton was shot in the 1100- block of South Dwight Street early Saturday morning.

Pampa police arrested 21-year-old Tomarius Embers, of Borger, in connection with the shooting. He is charged with Criminal Negligent Homicide and is currently being held in the Gray County Jail on a $25,000 bond.

Police were called to the Pampa Regional Medical Center at 12:25 a.m. on Saturday to a report of a gunshot victim who had been taken to the hospital by private vehicle.

PPD said Burton died from a single gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at 1:45 a.m. Saturday.
