Amarillo teen killed, 2 Amarillo residents seriously hurt in Garza County crash
GARZA COUNTY, Texas (KVII) —
An Amarillo teen was killed, and two more Amarillo residents were injured, in a crash on Sunday about 17 miles east of Post.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, at about 2 a.m. a Dodge passenger car was traveling west on US 84 approaching a curve when the vehicle went straight through the curve into the center median. The vehicle traveled into the median and struck a guardrail and concrete pedestal causing the vehicle to roll.
One passenger was ejected and two other occupants were pulled from the vehicle before the it caught on fire.
The driver, Christy Hubbard Tofflemire, 40, of Amarillo, and one passenger, Kanyon Robert Bural, 17, of Amarillo, were transported to University Medical Center in Lubbock with serious injuries.
The other passenger, Shelby Le'An Speery, 17, of Amarillo, was pronounced dead on the scene.
