Amarillo College will introduce themselves to high school seniors from across the Texas Panhandle during an event designed to help students make a smooth transition to college, called Success 360.

The event takes place Oct. 24 and 25 at the Amarillo Civic Center, where all the AC communities will be on display in the South Exhibit Hall.

AC has aligned its programs of study with academic communities that correspond to career endorsements supported by Texas high schools.

AC will feature academic communities in business, CIS, creative arts, education, health sciences, industry, liberal arts, public service and STEM.

“This is an opportunity for high school seniors to see our programs and meet our faculty,” Becky Burton, dean of academic outreach and support services, said.

“We look forward to welcoming any seniors who have not yet chosen a college, as well as all those who are already planning to attend AC in 2019 but have yet to settle on a course of study or even a community. This will help them quite a lot as they transition to the College.”

Amarillo Independent School District seniors are scheduled to attend Success 360 on Oct. 24 as follows: Caprock and Tascosa from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and Amarillo High and Palo Duro from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

In addition, parents of local and area high school seniors are invited to attend a highly informative Parent Night, on Oct. 24 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., in the South Exhibit Hall. No registration is needed and information will be available about the free Thrive Scholarship Program for AISD graduates.

All non-AISD seniors are invited to attend Success 360 on Oct. 25 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
