Amarillo-based artist to unveil painting for each military branch on Veterans Day

Amarillo-based artist and veteran Mark Aldrich will unveil five new paintings on Sunday at 1 p.m. during a signing ceremony at the Ussery-Roan Texas State Veterans Home in Amarillo.

The Veterans Day event will be open to the public with a reception following the unveiling.

Aldrich is a U.S. Army and Air Force veteran from Oregon who served a total of 17 years in the military. He began his art career in 1990 as a frame shop manager. Aldrich is the owner of MK Aldrich Art Gallery in Amarillo.

He was commissioned by the Veterans Land Board for the five custom Military Branch paintings, which will be signed by each Veteran-based on their branch of service as a permanent legacy at Ussery-Roan.

The Ussery-Roan Texas State Veterans Home is located at 1020 Tascosa Road.
