An 18-year-old has died and four other teens were injured following a crash northwest of Amarillo.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Troopers were called to the single-vehicle crash on Brick Plant Road just before 10 p.m. Wednesday night.

DPS said 18-year-old Anthony Estrada was driving a 2002 Honda passenger car southeast on Brick Plant Road, about 7 miles northwest of Amarillo, when he "failed to negotiate a curve in the road and lost control of the vehicle."

The vehicle rolled multiple times, coming to a rest upside down in a deep ditch, DPS said. Estrada was pronounced dead at the scene.

Four passengers were ejected from the vehicle. None of the occupants of the vehicle were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.

DPS said 18-year-old Trevor Chambers was air lifted to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The other passengers, Cheri Ray, 18, Rebecca Ray, 18, and Ambrea Michael, 19, were all taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

DPS suspects speed was a contributing factor in the crash, which is still under investigation.

According to social media posts, Estrada was a member of the River Road band. River Road Band President Deric Hewett said the band will be performing in honor of Estrada during River Road's football game Friday night.
