AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — A stabbing on Tuesday evening resulted in the death of one man, while the suspect remains hospitalized with a stab wound as well.
According to the Amarillo Police Department, at about 5:15 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of N. Taylor Street on a stabbing. Felipe Contreras Rojas, 59, was found suffering from multiple stab wounds to the upper body.
The suspect, a 28-year-old male, was detained at the scene and taken to a local hospital to be treated for a stab wound to the upper body. He will not be identified by APD until he has been booked into jail.
Rojas passed away at the scene.
Justice of the Peace Horn has ordered an autopsy.
APD's Special Crimes Unit remains investigating this incident.
