Sat, 02 Nov 2013 02:33:50 GMT — There's nothing like a hockey game to draw a crowd, and the United Way was working right alongside the Amarillo Bulls Friday (Nov. 1) evening to continue their mission of serving the community. Every year, the United Way holds fundraisers at various events, including hockey games - and this year, they raffled off chances to win either a 2013 Dodge Challenger or an autographed picture with the Bulls. The United Way raises funds for a host of area organizations, including the Salvation Army, the Amarillo Area Adult Literacy Council, the YMCA, Family Support Services, and many more. "The impact of United way in Amarillo and Canyon is tremendous," says United Way Communications Director Jessie Gunn. "We have 23 programs that we help to fund. It's amazing; there are so many different program providers that do so many different things, but it's really about the story that someone tells us."
