Parr leaves the "Rock"

Following a six year run as head football coach at Caprock High School, Seth Parr is headed south to Lubbock where he has been named head coach at Coronado High School. Parr, a Plainview native, spent 5 seasons as offensive coordinator at Palo Duro High school, working for his father Steve, the Dons head coach.

In December 2006, Seth was named head coach at Caprock and managed to turn the program around, earning back to back playoff appearances in 2010 and 2011, a first in school history. The Longhorns had not been to the playoffs since the mid 1970's.

He leaves the program in a much, much better situation than when he began and he will be missed by the Caprock community.

Assistant Dan Sherwood is the interim head coach at Caprock while AISD AD Brad Thiessen says the job opening will be posted until May 27. He hopes to hire a new coach before school ends.
