On the heels of a long, long week of golf Amarillo native Ryan Palmer has been added to the field for the upcoming 113th U.S Open.
Palmer was one of five alternates from sectional qualifying added to the field on Monday. Last week Ryan played 48 holes and lost out on a berth in The Open and after that played 72 holes at the FedEx St.Jude Classic in Memphis Tennessee, where he finished 4th solo.
It was his 4th top 10 of the season and he has moved up to 76th in the World Golf Rankings and jumped 14 places to 28th in the FedEx cup race.
He starts The Open 7:13am Thursday Amarillo time on hole #1 and he is paired Simon Kahn and Ted Potter Jr.
