Lifting Himself to a National Title

Marcos Brebiesca made all six lifts at the USAW Youth National Championship in June.

Most people train years, even decades for an opportunity to win a national title.

Marcos Brebiesca, incoming freshman at Randall High School, trained 18 months and accomplished his goal.

He won the USA Weightlifting Youth National Championship for his age group in Daytona Beach, Florida in June.

Brebiesca trains three to four times a week with the Panhandle Power Weightlifting Club in Amarillo.

His coach Martin Brock has trained Brebiesca for a year and a half and has seen his dedication and commitment to lifting.

Brebiesca got into power lifting after he broke his leg in football. He plans to play football this season with the Randall Raiders and will continue to weightlift, too.
