Lady Buffs Jump to #7 in Newest AVCA Division II Top-25 Poll

Coming off of their 20th consecutive home victory and 13th straight victory this season, the Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M moved up two spots to #7 in this weekâ??s edition of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division II Top 25 Poll announced on Monday afternoon by the organizationâ??s office in Lexington, Kentucky.

WT continued to roll through the Lone Star Conference this past weekend as they registered wins over Midwestern State and Cameron at the WTAMU Fieldhouse â??The Boxâ?? in Canyon to improve to 19-3 overall with a perfect 9-0 mark in the league to sit alone atop the standings.

Concordia St. Paul remained atop the poll followed by Tampa and unbeaten Central Missouri who jumped last weekâ??s number two Minnesota Duluth following a loss to Northern State. BYU-Hawaii remained at number five followed by Southwest Minnesota State, West Texas A&M, Western Washington, Nebraska-Kearney and Wingate to round out the Top-10.

A pair of South Central Regional opponents remained in the Top-25 with Angelo State dropping three spots to #19 while the Orediggers of Colorado School of Mines jumped two spots to #16.

The Lady Buffs head South this weekend for one conference contest as they travel to Kingsville, Texas for a Friday night matchup with the Javelinas of Texas A&M-Kingsville with first serve set for 7 p.m. at the Steinke Center.
