Highland Park Head Football Coach announces retirement
Longtime Panhandle football coach Craig Shores announced his retirement on Thursday. Shores spent 38 years patrolling the sideline. His career began at Cisco Junior College and from there to West Texas State where he was a graduate assistant and Junior Varsity coach. He entered the high school ranks, first as an assistant at Amarillo High then held his first head coaching position at River Road. His next stop was head coach at Borger, then back to Amarillo Palo Duro as an assistant and finally head coach at Highland Park. ABC7 sports congratulates the “old coach” on his career and wish him the best in retirement.
