Former Sandie makes an impact

It didn't take long for former Amarillo High Quarterback Gabe Rodriguez to make an impact at McMurry University. Today War Hawks Head Coach Mason Miller said Rodriquez would be his starting QB for this weekends home game vs. Oklahoma Panhandle State.

McMurry has lost its first three games, but last week at A&M Kingsville Rodriguez came on in relief and was 29-52 for 278yds and 4tds in a loss Javelinas.

Here's a quote from Coach Miller about the change

"He put us in the end zone five times and don't look at the scoreboard and just play. I have all the confidence in Brady that he's gonna be a great teammate and continue to push to get his job back and as well as push gabe to be great. I was very proud of the maturity in which both of them handled it and we'll see how practice goes this week too."
