      Confirmed: 2 leagues merge, Venom commits

      Amarillo Venom owner Stephanie Tucker told Pronews 7 Sports that when all is said and done, the league hopes to have 16 teams, making for four divisions.


      The Lone Star Football League and the Champions Professional Indoor League made it official on Wednesday, confirming the two leagues have merged.


      Right now 11 teams comprise the yet to be named league with others expected to join in the next few days.

      Executives and owners will meet in Wichita, Kan., on Aug. 22 and 23 to find a home for the league office, name the league, finalize rules and work on a schedule. Here are the teams already committed to the league
