Brown says defensive firing not a sign of panic

After firing his defensive coordinator two games into the season, Texas coach Mack Brown says he's not in a panic. He says he is just trying to fix a problem.

Brown also insists the Longhorns' 40-21 loss to BYU didn't raise the pressure on his own job. Texas gave up a school-record 550 yards rushing and dropped out of the Top 25 with the loss.

Texas is just 23-18 since 2009, but Brown had talked openly in the preseason that this year's experienced team could lead the Longhorns back to national prominence.

Manny Diaz was reassigned and the defensive coordinator's job was given to Greg Robinson, a former Longhorns and Michigan assistant who had also had a stint as head coach at Syracuse.
