Big Weekend Lifts Lady Buffs to #9 in Newest AVCA Division II Top-25 Poll

Following an unbeaten Lone Star Conference road trip this past weekend, the Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M have moved up to #9 in the newest American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division II Volleyball Top-25 Poll announced on Monday afternoon by the associationâ??s offices in Lexington, Kentucky.

The Lady Buffs went on the road this past weekend and dropped Lone Star Conference foes Tarleton State and then #7 Angelo State in four sets to improve to 14-3 overall with a perfect 4-0 mark in the league. Saturdayâ??s win in San Angelo snapped a 24 match regular season home win streak by the Belles while also pushing WTâ??s win streak to eight matches.

Concordia St. Paul remained atop the poll for the second straight week followed by Minnesota Duluth, Tampa, Central Missouri BYU-Hawaii, Southwest Minnesota State, Western Washington, Nebraska-Kearney, WT and Angelo State to round out the Top-10.

The South Central Region was represented by #9 West Texas A&M, #10 Angelo State and #21 Colorado School of Mines.

The Lady Buffs return home next weekend as they host Texas A&M-Commerce on Friday night with first serve set for 7 p.m. followed by a matchup with the Pioneers of Texas Woman's on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the WTAMU Fieldhouse "The Box" in Canyon.
